Russian Tea Cookies

Soft, crumbly and more savory than sweet, these Russian Tea Cookies are a perfect addition to your holiday cookie tray. 

They bake up like snowballs covered in powdered sugar, and are an easy recipe for the kids to help you bake! 


Ingredients

1 cup butter, softened

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

3/4 cup finely chopped nuts of choice

1/4 teaspoon salt

Powdered sugar

Instructions

• Preheat oven to 400 degrees
• Mix butter, 1/2 cup powdered sugar and     vanilla in large bowl. Stir in flour, nuts and salt until dough is consistent and holds together

• Roll dough into 1-inch balls. Place about 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

• Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until set but not brown. Remove from cookie sheet. Let cool slightly on wire rack.

• Roll warm cookies in powdered sugar, and let cool on wire rack.

• When cool, roll in powdered sugar again.
