Classic Scalloped Potatoes

Ingredients
4 large baking potatoes, sliced thin (peel on)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup butter, cubed
1 tablespoon grated onion
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/8 teaspoon pepper
chopped fresh parsley to garnish
Instructions
Preheat oven to 425 degrees
Grease 9" x 9" (or 2 qt) baking pan, and layer potatoes
In a small skillet, melt butter and add onion, salt, thyme and pepper
Pour mixture over potatoes, cover and bake for 45 minutes or until potatoes are tender
Top with cheese and parsley, bake uncovered for 15 minutes or until cheese is melted
