Classic Scalloped Potatoes

Ingredients

  • 4 large baking potatoes, sliced thin (peel on)

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

  • 1/4 cup butter, cubed

  • 1 tablespoon grated onion

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme

  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

  • chopped fresh parsley to garnish 

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees 

  • Grease 9" x 9" (or 2 qt) baking pan, and layer potatoes

  • In a small skillet, melt butter and add onion, salt, thyme and pepper

  • Pour mixture over potatoes, cover and bake for 45 minutes or until potatoes are tender

  • Top with cheese and parsley, bake uncovered for 15 minutes or until cheese is melted
