Thousand Hills Cattle Company works to provide 100% grass fed beef while nourishing soil, plants, cattle and people by holistically raising cattle. THCC is based in Canon Falls, MN but partners with a variety of small scale midwestern farms. They are committed to providing beef that is free of hormones, antibiotics, GMOs and grain-based diets. THCC ensures that all of their cattle are treated humanely and 100% grass fed for all of their lives. In the summer, cattle roams free. In the winter, cattle consumes stored grasses like hay.
Because grass is the natural diet of cattle, grass fed meats are better for the animals and the meats are better for consumers. Grass fed meats contain more omega-3 fatty acids and vitamins A, D, E and K2 than their comercial grain fed counterpart. A grass fed diet is easier on the cattle's digestion and because they are roaming freely, they are generally happier, healthier animals. Free roaming cattle nourishes the soil with their waste, which helps to grow healthy grasses and cuts down on the need for heavy machinery to manage grasslands. This closed loop system is a holistic approach to raising cattle that results in a delicious and nutritious meat product.
